Debi DeBruyn Joins YWCA Greater Lafayette as New Executive Director

Debi DeBruyn of West Lafayette has been named the Executive Director of YWCA Greater Lafayette. "The Board of Directors is excited to have Debi join the YWCA family," said Board President David Huhnke, "She brings the expertise and experience we need at this time to move the YWCA forward. I want to thank the Search Committee for their due diligence in this search. I encourage the Greater Lafayette community and the YWCA extended family to lend their support and resources to her in order to accomplish the mission of the YWCA."

DeBruyn has been a lifelong resident of Greater Lafayette and began her involvement with YWCA Greater Lafayette as a member of the Y-Teens Program. She is a graduate of Purdue University with a Master of Science in Counseling and Personnel Services. DeBruyn was most recently the Area IV Head Start Director serving Clinton, White and Carroll counties from 2004-2011, where she managed all aspects of the multi-site program serving 176 Head Start children and their families. She currently serves as the President of Indiana Head Start Association Board of Directors. DeBruyn was the Regional Coordinator for Juvenile Alternatives from 1990-1994, starting the Juvenile Alternatives Program in Tippecanoe and 15 surrounding counties. She was the Regional Manager of Division of Family and Children Social Services Administration from 1994-1997.

There will be a welcoming reception from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 at the YWCA, 605 N. 6th Street, Lafayette. The reception is open to the public.
